Get Started

Fusion splicing permanently joins two optical fibers by precisely aligning their cores and using an electric arc to “weld” them together. It’s the gold-standard method for creating ultra-low-loss, low-reflection connections in single-mode (OS2) and multimode (OM3/OM4/OM5) fiber. Typical use cases include extending trunks, repairing breaks, transitioning loose-tube/ribbon cable to pigtails for patch panels, and building reliable backbone links. Each splice is protected with heat-shrink sleeves and neatly managed in splice trays, then verified with OTDR/OLTS testing to document insertion loss and reflectance.

As a low-voltage wiring company, TechVoo handles the full physical process: fiber prep and cleaving, core alignment fusion splicing, pigtail terminations (LC/SC/ST), tray/closure management, bend-radius/slack storage, labeling both ends, and acceptance testing (OTDR at 1310/1550nm for SM and 850/1300nm for MM, plus light-source/power-meter). We work in MDF/IDFs, risers, conduit, and OSP entrances, and we can perform after-hours cutovers or emergency restorations. You’ll receive a clean, standards-based installation with documented loss budgets, OTDR traces, and as-built maps—typically delivered within 7–10 business days of completion. We don’t configure active equipment; your IT/MSP lights the links when ready.

Fusion splicing delivers the lowest loss and best long-term reliability versus mechanical splices, supporting today’s and tomorrow’s speeds (10/40/100GbE and beyond) with minimal reflectance and maximum headroom. A professionally spliced and documented plant reduces troubleshooting time, prevents intermittent issues, and simplifies future expansions. With TechVoo, you get meticulous craftsmanship, tidy trays and enclosures, honest test results, and no-surprise pricing—so your fiber backbone is rock-solid on day one and ready to scale.
