Prince Of Persia Movie Review

May 29, 2010 – Having been a fan of the games I was more or less eager to see the film adaptation. On the other hand I'm not the biggest Jake Gyllenhaal fan so I guess you could say I had mixed feelings prior to the screening.

One thing that always bothers me with movies based on books or games is the huge departure the movies usually take from the original story and though that's still the case here, the writers did a very good job of keeping the vital elements in tact. While the story has almost nothing to do with the games it's still compelling.

One thing I would like to give kudos to the director for is the overall feel, and by that I mean the movie was never really dragged down by dry story sequences. There was a wonderful balance of comedy, action, an incredible score that helped with the overall mood, and a story that tied the movie together. Even though I mentioned earlier I wasn't too much of a Jake Gyllenhaal fan, I can't help but admit he was perfect for this role, and hey Alfred Molina even makes a cameo. All-in-all this movie turned out way better than I expected, do yourself a favor and check it out!
